Man dies after being hit by car in Wolverhampton city centre

West Midlands Police have launched an appeal for dash-cam footage following a fatal collision in Wolverhampton city centre on Monday evening, July 13. A pedestrian in his 60s was struck by a car at the junction of Ring Road and Stafford Street at approximately 6.15pm.

Emergency services response

Ambulance crews arrived at the scene to find the man with life-threatening injuries. A West Midlands Ambulance Service spokesman said: "On arrival, crews discovered one patient, a man, who was the pedestrian. Sadly, it quickly became apparent that nothing could be done to save him and he was confirmed dead at the scene." The man was pronounced dead shortly after the collision.

Driver cooperates with police

The driver of the car remained at the scene and is assisting officers with their enquiries. Police have confirmed that no arrests have been made at this stage. A West Midlands Police spokesperson added: "We’re appealing for information after a man was hit by a car in Wolverhampton last night. We were called to the junction of Ring Road and Stafford Street at around 6.15pm. Despite the best efforts of emergency services, a man in his 60s was sadly declared dead at the scene."

Appeal for witnesses and dash-cam footage

Officers are particularly keen to hear from anyone who was in the area at the time of the collision, especially those with dash-cam footage that may have captured the incident or the moments leading up to it. The police spokesperson said: "We’re appealing for anyone who was in the area at the time, in particular anyone who has any dash-cam footage, to get in touch."
