Police Release Details in Coventry Bin Death Investigation
West Midlands Police have issued a new appeal for information as they work to identify a man whose body was found in a wheelie bin in Coventry. The victim, who is believed to be aged between 40 and 50 years old, was discovered by a member of the public in Cash's Park off Daimler Road at approximately 5pm on Friday, March 13.
Distinctive Tattoos Could Hold Key to Identity
The man has several distinctive tattoos that police hope will help with identification. On his back, there is a tattoo of a cross with a snake wrapped around it, accompanied by the words "Little Stardust". On his right arm, there is a tattoo saying 'nan' with a clover and the colours of the Irish flag.
Detective Chief Inspector Phil Poole, who is leading the investigation, stated: "I really want to hear from anyone who recognises the descriptions of the tattoos on the man, as they are quite distinctive."
Police Probe Circumstances and Bin Ownership
The body was found inside a Coventry City Council wheelie bin with a green lid. Authorities are collaborating with the local council to determine where the bin was moved from prior to the discovery. Police are also actively seeking to locate the owner of the bin.
Investigators believe the man may have been struck by a vehicle before being placed in the park. DCI Poole added: "We have a large team of detectives, forensic specialists and other staff working around the clock to establish what has happened to this man, who he is, and who is responsible."
Appeal for Information and Footage
Police are urging anyone with information to come forward. They are particularly interested in dashcam or CCTV footage from the area around Daimler Road and Cash's Park on or before March 13. DCI Poole emphasized: "I also really want to hear from anyone who has noticed unexplained damage on a vehicle, perhaps of a partner or relative, or anyone who’s noticed a sudden change in behaviour from someone they know."
Anyone with information is asked to contact West Midlands Police via 101, quoting log number 4148 of March 13. The investigation continues as police work to provide answers for the victim and his family.
