A 49-year-old man who indecently exposed himself while sitting in his window has been sentenced to 54 weeks in prison.
Matthew Lucs was observed by two different individuals on two separate occasions earlier this month. His 'repeated' actions were described as 'entirely unacceptable' by law enforcement.
Lucs first committed the offence on the afternoon of June 15, while seated in his window on High Street, Burton Latimer. Two days later, on the morning of June 17, another person witnessed him engaging in similar behaviour.
He was subsequently arrested and charged with two counts of indecent exposure. Appearing at Northampton Magistrates' Court on Thursday, June 18, Lucs pleaded guilty to both charges and was handed a 54-week custodial sentence.
Police response
Following the sentencing, Detective Inspector Al Rooney from Northamptonshire Police commented: "Indecent exposure can have a lasting impact on those who witness it and it is something we take extremely seriously, not least because this type of behaviour can escalate and lead to more serious offences.
"Lucs' actions were repeated and entirely unacceptable, and I welcome the sentence handed down by the court today. I hope the swift investigation and quick turnaround at court will reassure the community that we will act decisively to bring offenders like this to justice.
"I would like to thank the members of the public who came forward and reported these incidents to us. Their information enabled officers to act quickly and ensure this offender was brought to justice."
