A Kurdish man has been found guilty of raping a woman in the back room of a barbershop after offering her a job, a court heard. The incident took place in Birmingham, and the man was sentenced to 12 years in prison.
The Attack
The court heard that the man, who cannot be named for legal reasons, offered the woman a job at the barbershop. Once she was inside, he led her to the back room and attacked her. The woman reported the assault to the police, and an investigation was launched.
During the trial, the prosecution presented evidence including CCTV footage and witness testimony. The defendant denied the charges, but the jury found him guilty of rape.
