West Midlands Police have released CCTV images of a man with a distinctive tattoo after a woman was sexually assaulted in Birmingham. The incident took place on Saturday 12 October 2024, between 11pm and midnight, on Alcester Road in the Moseley area.
Details of the Assault
The victim, a woman in her 30s, was walking along Alcester Road when she was approached by an unknown man who sexually assaulted her. She managed to escape and reported the incident to police. Officers have since been reviewing CCTV footage and are now appealing for the public's help to identify the suspect.
The man is described as white, in his 30s, with short brown hair and a beard. He was wearing a dark-coloured body warmer, a grey hooded top with the hood up, and dark trousers. He also had a distinctive tattoo on his left hand, which can be seen clearly in the CCTV images released by police.
Police Appeal
Detective Inspector Phil Capewell, from West Midlands Police, said: “We are determined to find the man responsible for this sexual assault and bring him to justice. The victim has been left extremely distressed by what happened, and we are doing everything we can to support her.”
He added: “We have released images of a man we would like to speak to, as we believe he may have vital information about the incident. He has a distinctive tattoo on his left hand, which we hope will jog someone’s memory. If you recognise him, or if you were in the area at the time and saw anything suspicious, please get in touch.”
