Midlands stalker jailed for rape threats

Casey Colton-Young, a 20-year-old stalker from Sutton-in-Ashfield, has been sentenced to 38 months in a young offenders institution after harassing multiple women and issuing terrifying threats, including threatening to rape one victim and hold a knife to her sister's throat.

Stalking Protection Order Breached

Colton-Young was made subject to a stalking protection order in 2024 after persistently harassing five women, using racist and threatening language. The order required him to notify police of all devices, social media accounts, and any relationships. He was arrested twice in 2025 for breaching the order and committing further offences.

Nottingham Crown Court heard that police arrested him on October 16 and December 20, 2025, for breaching the order. On the second occasion, officers found a mobile phone hidden in his bathroom after a delay in answering the door.

Victims' Harrowing Experiences

One victim described receiving persistent unwanted contact after deciding not to pursue a relationship. Colton-Young used a friend's WhatsApp account to contact her after being blocked, constantly created new social media accounts to add her, and sent a Snapchat post showing he was in the area when she moved to university. In a statement read to the court, she said she would 'shake at the thought of him messaging me or turning up at my address' and suffered regular panic attacks, describing him as 'calculated and manipulative'.

Another victim reported multiple messages and phone calls threatening property damage and serious harm, including threats to rape her and hold a knife to her sister's throat. She said his actions left her 'terrified to go out' in case she saw him.

Sentencing and Police Response

Colton-Young admitted five counts of breaching a stalking prevention order and stalking causing serious alarm or distress, and was convicted of sending communications threatening death or serious harm. On July 8, 2026, he was sentenced to 38 months in a young offenders institution and handed indefinite restraining orders.

Detective Sergeant Gemma Patterson of Nottinghamshire Police said: 'Colton-Young is a dangerous offender who has shown no remorse for the serious alarm and distress he inflicted on multiple victims. When they tried to withdraw from him, they were harassed, stalked and received terrifying threats that left them fearing for their safety. The victims are all terrified of him and so I am pleased he has now lost his freedom and can no longer harm them.'

She praised DC James Lawrence and DC Rachel Fox for their dedication, adding: 'Violence against women and girls in all its forms is completely unacceptable. As a force we remain committed to doing everything we can to prevent and reduce the immeasurable harm it causes, keeping women and girls safe, and catching those responsible and holding offenders to account.'

The force urged victims to report crimes on 101 or 999 in emergencies, stating: 'You will be supported, you will be listened to, and we will help you. You are not alone.'
