A Birmingham father has been left frustrated and out of pocket after a persistent thief has been stealing his weekly doorstep deliveries of milk, eggs, and juices for the past two months. The incidents have occurred at his home on Roland Road in Lozells, with the most recent theft captured on camera.
The stolen goods, worth £28 per delivery, include four gallons of milk, two gallons of apple juice, a bottle of orange juice, and a dozen eggs. The deliveries are made twice a week by McQueens Dairies, on Sunday and Wednesday nights between 10pm and 7am.
Victim Speaks Out
The victim, a taxi driver and father, said: "We get the delivery twice a week on Sunday and Wednesday nights from 10pm to 7am. It's not a small delivery; it's four gallons of milk, two gallons of apple juice, a bottle of orange juice and a dozen eggs. My children rely on it. I worked for this company (McQueens Dairies) and I want my children to have this milk."
He believes the thief is lying in wait: "When the milk is delivered, he knows the timing and I believe he's hiding on the Lozells Road." The father has had to ask his mother to stay up after her 4am prayers to watch for the delivery and try to deter the thief.
Police Investigation
The matter has been reported to West Midlands Police, who have confirmed they will issue a statement regarding the ongoing investigation. The victim is pleading with the culprit to stop, as the weekly cost is a significant burden he can ill afford.
This incident follows a similar case in Bearwood last Friday, where a woman dressed in flip flops, black knickers, and a crop top was caught on doorbell camera taking two bottles of milk from a doorstep. The homeowner uploaded the footage to Facebook, where others also reported missing milk deliveries recently.
