Belongings of Missing Birmingham City Fan Paul Pike Found in Search
Police conducting a desperate search for missing Birmingham City fan Paul Pike have made a significant discovery, finding items belonging to the 18-year-old. Mr Pike, from Birmingham, vanished a week ago on March 21 after traveling to watch his team play against Derby County at Pride Park stadium in Derbyshire.
Details of the Disappearance
The teenager, who has ADHD and is autistic, was believed to have entered the ground but left just 13 minutes after kick-off. He was last captured on CCTV at approximately 12:43 pm outside the stadium, walking along the riverside path near the Millennium Way cut-through. In a new update issued recently, investigators revealed they had located items belonging to Mr Pike on a pathway adjacent to the stadium.
Police Appeal for Information
Derbyshire Constabulary is now urgently appealing for cyclists who may have been passing by the area to contact the force if they possess any footage or information. A spokesperson for the police stated, "We're appealing for cyclists who may have footage to contact us as we continue our search for missing man Paul Pike." The appeal emphasizes that officers found items believed to belong to Paul in the vicinity of the path running next to Pride Park.
The spokesperson added, "We're now appealing for anyone who was on the riverside path at around 12:45 pm – in particular any cyclists who may have had an action camera that may have caught footage of Paul." Extensive enquiries have been ongoing, and these efforts will persist over the weekend as the search intensifies.
Description and Further Appeals
Paul Pike is described as white, approximately 6 feet 1 inch tall, with a slim build, short dark brown hair, and a beard. At the time of his disappearance, he was last seen wearing a Sergio Tacchino tracksuit top that is grey on the top and black on the bottom, a Burberry patterned baseball cap, a navy blue polo shirt, and blue jeans.
Police are also keen to hear from anyone who was driving in the Pride Park area at the time and might have dashcam footage. Anyone with information is urged to contact Derbyshire Constabulary, quoting reference 1095 of March 24. The community remains hopeful for his safe return as the investigation continues.
