A man has been charged with murder following the death of a man who was found unconscious on a pavement in Erdington.
Michael Bennett, 38, was discovered on Reservoir Road shortly before 1am on Friday, March 27. He was rushed to hospital with life-threatening injuries and tragically died two weeks later on Friday, April 10.
Charges Brought
West Midlands Police has confirmed that Kevin Siviter, 42, from Birmingham, was arrested on Friday, April 24, and has been charged with murder. He is due to appear at magistrates court on Monday, April 27.
Police Appeal
Detective Inspector Michelle Cordell said: "Our thoughts remain with Michael’s family at this tragic time. While this is a significant development, we are still appealing for witnesses or anyone with information to please get in touch."
Police are particularly keen to speak to anyone who was in the area of Reservoir Road between 9.30pm on Thursday, March 26 and 12.55am on Friday, March 27, 2026, and may have seen Michael.
A force spokesperson added: "Michael’s family are being kept up to date with these latest developments and are being supported by specially trained officers."
