Police Hunt Woman in Red Hijab Over Phone Theft

West Midlands Police have released a CCTV image of a woman they wish to speak to in connection with a mobile phone theft in Birmingham. The incident occurred at a shop on Alum Rock Road at around 6pm on Wednesday, 15 April.

The woman, who was wearing a bright red hijab and a black top, is clearly visible in the photograph. Officers are urging anyone who recognises her to come forward and assist with their investigation.

Police Appeal for Information

A spokesperson for West Midlands Police said: "Recognise this woman? We'd like to speak to her after a mobile phone was stolen from a shop on Alum Rock Road. It happened at around 6pm last Wednesday (15 April). If you know her or can help our investigation, call us on 101 quoting crime reference number 20/218141/26."

Alternatively, members of the public can provide information anonymously to the independent charity Crimestoppers by calling 0800 555 111.

This appeal comes after a series of thefts in the area. In a separate incident, a thief who targeted a shop eight times in 18 days attempted to choke an officer. Police are keen to solve this case and prevent further crimes.
