Staffordshire Police are investigating a series of deliberate fires that occurred at Park Hall Country Park in Stoke-on-Trent on Sunday, July 19. Officers were called to the park on Hulme Road, Longton, at 1.20pm following reports of multiple fires.
Firefighters and Police Respond to Multiple Blazes
Firefighters from Staffordshire Fire and Rescue Service worked to extinguish several fires at the location, while police assisted with road closures. Inspector Rebecca Price of the Stoke-on-Trent south local policing team described the situation as "completely unacceptable." She noted that as firefighters were tackling one fire, another would be set nearby.
Police have launched an investigation into the incidents. They are particularly interested in speaking to three or four teenagers who were seen in the area at the time, wearing balaclavas and riding e-scooters.
Appeal for Information
Inspector Price urged anyone with information to come forward: "We are keen to speak to these teenagers as part of our enquiries, and I would urge anyone who knows who they might be to contact us." She also appealed for anyone with CCTV, doorbell, or dashcam footage from the area at the time to get in touch.
