Police have launched an investigation following the discovery of human bones in Birmingham. The remains were found in a wooded area off a residential street in the Kings Heath district on Wednesday afternoon.
Discovery and Initial Response
West Midlands Police received a report at around 2:30 PM after a member of the public made the grim discovery. Officers cordoned off the area and a forensic team was deployed to examine the scene. The bones were carefully recovered and transported for further analysis.
Forensic Examination
Specialists will conduct tests to determine the age and origin of the bones, as well as whether any foul play was involved. The investigation is in its early stages, and police have not yet confirmed if the remains are historic or recent.
Detective Inspector Jim Colclough said: "We are treating this discovery with the utmost seriousness. Our priority is to establish the identity of the individual and the circumstances surrounding their death. We urge anyone with information to come forward."
