Police have arrested a man in his 50s after uncovering a cache of weapons, including hand grenades, firearms, and ammunition, during a raid on a home in Cradley Heath.
Details of the Raid
The discovery was made on Tuesday, July 21, when officers executed a search warrant at a property on Primrose Close. Inside, they found several hand grenades, multiple firearms, and a quantity of ammunition.
A spokesperson for West Midlands Police confirmed: "A man is in custody after a number of weapons and ammunition have been recovered from a property in Cradley Heath. Officers are carrying out searches at an address in Primrose Close. Inside they found firearms and ammunition, as well as several hand grenades and other weapons."
Arrest and Investigation
The suspect, a man in his 50s, was arrested on suspicion of firearms possession and remains in police custody. Enquiries are ongoing, and authorities have stated there is no wider threat to the community.
The spokesperson added: "Enquiries are ongoing and there is not thought to be any wider threat to the community. Officers are remaining at the scene today while they continue to search the property. A man in his 50s was arrested on suspicion of firearms possession and remains in custody this morning as our investigation continues."
