Police have launched a renewed appeal for witnesses and footage after a pedestrian was left with serious injuries in a suspected hit-and-run collision in Birmingham.

Man seriously hurt in early hours collision

The incident occurred on Hamstead Road in Handsworth, near its junction with Radnor Road, at around 1.30am on Saturday, 22 November. A man, believed to be in his 30s, was struck by a car. He was taken to hospital where he received treatment for injuries described as serious.

Driver came forward after leaving scene

Officers from West Midlands Police confirmed that the driver initially left the location but later came forward to assist with their enquiries. The vehicle involved is believed to be a red hatchback.

In an appeal issued on Sunday, 21 December, a police spokesperson urged the public for help. "We're now asking for your help with our investigation," they said. The force is particularly keen to obtain any dashcam or doorbell footage from the area around the time of the collision.
