Police and council officers executed a warrant at a Wolverhampton shop today, uncovering suspected drug dealing links. The Lichfield Street premises in the city centre was searched by West Midlands Police and Wolverhampton council on April 29.
Illegal Drugs and Counterfeit Items Found
During the operation, officers discovered illegal drugs, including cannabis edibles and vapes, along with suspected counterfeit items. A sniffer dog assisted in the searches.
Two Men Arrested
Two men, aged 20 and 43, were arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply drugs. They remain in custody for questioning.
West Midlands Police stated: 'We acted on information about suspected drug dealing linked to the premises in Lichfield Street and worked with Trading Standards to carry out a raid.'
The force emphasized that this action is part of regular efforts to tackle drug dealing in Wolverhampton and across the West Midlands. They added: 'We won't tolerate illegal activities and we're often involved in warrants alongside Trading Standards, HMRC and other agencies, in response to information we receive about drug sales, anti-social behaviour, and crime and disorder.'
