Initial Incident and Response
Police first attended a property on Hob Moor Road at just before 11am on Tuesday, July 14, after receiving reports of a man inside an address with a knife. Officers conducted searches but found no one.
Second Report and Further Searches
At around 1.20pm the same day, police returned to the same road after receiving a report of a man seen with a machete. Again, searches did not result in locating anyone. Unconfirmed reports suggested some nearby schools may have gone into lockdown as a precaution.
Ongoing Investigations and Patrols
A West Midlands Police spokesperson said: "We attended a property in Hob Moor Road, Bordesley Green, at just before 11am on Tuesday following reports of a man inside an address with a knife. Officers carried out searches, but no one was located. At just after 1.20pm we were called to a report of a man seen with a machete on Hob Moor Road and further searches were carried out. Investigations are on-going and neighbourhood officers are in the area continuing with regular reassurance patrols."
