A second person has been arrested following a serious bike crash in Tamworth that left a young girl with potentially life-changing injuries.
Arrests Made After Collision
A 16-year-old boy was detained shortly after the incident, which occurred at around 4pm on Monday, July 13. He was arrested on suspicion of causing serious injury by dangerous driving, driving while unfit through drink, and driving while unfit through drugs. On Tuesday, July 14, a 20-year-old man from Tamworth was also arrested on suspicion of causing serious injury by dangerous driving. Both remain in custody.
Details of the Incident
The girl was riding a push bike on a footpath across a playing field near Cambrian in Tamworth when a black motorbike, with a rider and passenger, collided with her. She was taken to hospital by ambulance and remains in a serious but stable condition. Police have described her injuries as potentially life-changing.
Police Appeal for Witnesses
Staffordshire Police is appealing for anyone who witnessed the collision or has relevant CCTV, dashcam, doorbell, or mobile phone footage to come forward. A spokesperson said: "We are keen to speak to anyone who saw what happened or who may have relevant footage."
