Second Suspect Charged in Victoria Square Stabbing
West Midlands Police have charged a second man with attempted murder following an alleged stabbing in Birmingham city centre that left an 18-year-old with potentially life-changing injuries. Obaidullah Mamozai, 28, from Telford, Shropshire, faces charges of attempted murder and assault. He appeared before Birmingham Magistrates Court last week and has been remanded in custody pending a hearing at Birmingham Crown Court on August 6.
Details of the Incident
The alleged attack occurred on the evening of June 23 in Victoria Square. The 18-year-old victim suffered serious injuries, while a 17-year-old boy was also allegedly assaulted and sustained facial injuries. Police have not released further details about the victims' conditions.
First Defendant Also Charged
Earlier, police charged Niazal Rahmanullah, 25, of Alcester Street, with attempted murder, wounding, possession of a knife, and violent disorder. Rahmanullah is also due to appear at Birmingham Crown Court next month.
