A two-year-old girl has been left with potentially life-changing injuries after a hit-and-run in Smethwick, West Midlands. The collision occurred on Londonderry Lane shortly before 8.50pm on Monday, 13 July.

Emergency Response and Injuries

West Midlands Police (WMP) confirmed they were called to the scene at 8.50pm. The child was treated for serious but not life-threatening injuries before being rushed to Midland Metropolitan University Hospital. A WMP spokesperson said: "A two-year-old girl was injured and taken to hospital with potentially life-changing injuries."

Driver Fled Scene

The driver failed to stop after the collision. Enquiries are ongoing to trace them. Police have appealed for anyone with information or dashcam footage to contact them quoting log number 6064 of 13 July.

Ambulance Service Details

A West Midlands Ambulance Service spokesperson added: "We were called at 8.44pm. One ambulance and the Trust’s Critical Care Car attended. The girl was treated for serious, but not life-threatening injuries, then taken to hospital."
