Sparkhill shooting: Police issue new appeal for information

Police in Birmingham have issued a fresh appeal for information following a shooting in the Sparkhill area which left a man injured and a vehicle damaged.

Details of the Sparkhill Incident

The incident occurred at the junction of Stratford Road and Durham Road in Sparkhill. Authorities were alerted to reports of gunshots at approximately 7:25pm on Saturday, December 27.

Upon arrival, officers discovered one man who had sustained a minor injury, believed to be caused by shrapnel. A car parked in the vicinity was also damaged during the event. A significant police presence, including both marked and unmarked vehicles, was reported in the area shortly before 7:30pm that evening.

Ongoing Investigation and Public Appeal

No arrests have been made in connection with the shooting, and police inquiries are actively continuing. In a new statement, detectives have urged the public to come forward with any information that could assist the investigation.

Officers are particularly keen to obtain any dashcam footage from motorists who were driving in the area around the time of the incident. The force has set up its Major Incident Public Portal (MIPP) to allow the public to submit images or video evidence securely.
