Staffordshire Police have seized a stun gun, a machete, and a samurai sword from a home in Tamworth, along with cannabis and cash, following the search of a car and a house in the town.
Car Search Leads to House Raid
At approximately 12:30 PM on Tuesday, June 16, officers searched a car in Stonydelph, Tamworth, after receiving intelligence that the vehicle was involved in drug dealing. During the search, police discovered cannabis and two mobile phones.
This stop prompted a subsequent search of a residence in Coton Green, located about four miles away. There, officers uncovered a stun gun, a machete, and a samurai sword.
Arrests Made
A 24-year-old man from Tamworth was arrested on suspicion of being concerned in the supply of a Class A drug, possession of an offensive weapon in a private place, using a motor vehicle without third party insurance, and driving otherwise than in accordance with a license.
A 39-year-old man, also from Tamworth, was arrested on suspicion of being concerned in the supply of a Class A drug and possession of a weapon for the discharge of a noxious liquid, gas, or electrical incapacitation device.
Police Statement
A spokesperson for Staffordshire Police said: "Two men have been arrested after weapons, cannabis, and cash were seized from a house and car in Tamworth. At around 12:30 PM on Tuesday (June 16), officers searched a car in Stonydelph following intelligence that it was potentially involved in drug supply. Two phones and cannabis were seized. Officers then searched a home in Coton Green and seized a stun gun, machete, and a samurai sword."
The spokesperson added: "A 24-year-old man, from Tamworth, has been arrested on suspicion of being concerned in the supply of a Class A drug, possession of an offensive weapon in a private place, using a motor vehicle on a road or public place without third party insurance, and driving a motor vehicle otherwise than in accordance with a license. A 39-year-old man, from Tamworth, has been arrested on suspicion of being concerned in the supply of a Class A drug and possession of a weapon for the discharge of a noxious liquid, gas, or electrical incapacitation device. They both remain in custody for questioning."
