Staffordshire Police have arrested a 16-year-old boy on suspicion of causing serious injury by dangerous driving after a young girl was left with potentially life-changing injuries in a Tamworth crash. The incident occurred on a footpath near a playing field in Cambrian on Monday, July 14, just after 4pm.
Collision Details
The girl was riding a push bike when a black motorbike carrying a rider and a passenger collided with her. Medics rushed her to hospital, where she remains in a serious but stable condition. Her injuries are described as potentially life-changing.
Police were called to the scene at approximately 4:10pm following reports of the collision. The motorbike was reportedly being ridden by two people at the time.
Arrest and Appeal
The arrested teenager is also suspected of driving while unfit through drink and drugs. He remains in police custody as inquiries continue.
Detective Inspector Dave Rowlands appealed for the second person on the motorbike to come forward. He said: "I would urge the other young man to do the right thing and come forward to us. A young girl has been seriously injured and is undergoing extensive treatment in hospital. Anyone who knows the young man should consider their conscience and report what they know to us."
A police spokesperson added: "We are continuing to appeal for the other young man, who we believe to have also been on the motorbike, to come forward."

Authorities are keen to speak to anyone who witnessed the incident or has relevant CCTV, dashcam, doorbell, or mobile phone footage.
