A young girl has been left with serious injuries after a hit-and-run in Tamworth, Staffordshire, where a motorbike carrying two teenagers struck her pushbike on a footpath. The air ambulance landed at a children's play park near the scene.
Collision on footpath near Cambrian
The incident occurred at 4.10pm on July 13 on a footpath across a playing field near Cambrian in the Glascote Heath area. The girl was riding a pushbike when a black motorbike with a rider and passenger collided with her. The two occupants, described as aged around 16 to 17, were wearing all black clothing and balaclavas, with no helmets. They did not stop and fled towards Stoneydelph.
Emergency response and injuries
Staffordshire Police were called at 4.20pm, ten minutes after the collision. The air ambulance attended and was pictured landed near a children's play park. The girl sustained serious injuries and was taken to hospital by ambulance. Her current condition has not been disclosed.
Police appeal for information
A Staffordshire Police spokesperson said: "We are appealing for witnesses following a serious collision in Tamworth. We were called at 4.20pm to a footpath across a playing field near to Cambrian to reports that a black motorbike, with a rider and passenger, collided with a young girl who was on a push bike at 4.10pm. The girl, who has serious injuries, has been taken to hospital by ambulance. The rider and passenger did not stop and rode off towards Stoneydelph. They are described as aged around 16/17-years-old and were wearing all black with balaclavas and no helmets."
