Taylor Wimpey Midlands has donated a public access defibrillator (PAD) to Stourbridge Football Club in Amblecote, enhancing safety for the community and surrounding areas. The donation is part of a nationwide initiative with the British Heart Foundation (BHF) to provide life-saving equipment across the UK, aiding those who suffer out-of-hospital cardiac arrests.
Since 2019, the BHF has partnered with Taylor Wimpey to offer CPR training to employees and equip all building sites with defibrillators. Upon completing developments, Taylor Wimpey donates the devices to local communities, aligning with its goal of leaving a lasting positive impact.
The defibrillator at Stourbridge FC is placed in a central, accessible location. The club will oversee its use and maintenance, ensuring availability for anyone in need.
Matthew Kendall, sales and marketing director for Taylor Wimpey Midlands, said: "Supporting the communities we build in is a core value for us. Our collaboration with the British Heart Foundation ensures more defibrillators are available to help in emergencies, and we are pleased to be part of making this essential equipment accessible at Stourbridge FC."
Jason Connon, operations manager of Stourbridge Football Club, added: "As a football club, the safety and wellbeing of our players, staff, and supporters is a top priority. Cardiac arrests can happen anywhere, even during sporting events, so having a defibrillator on-site is vital. This generous donation from Taylor Wimpey not only benefits our club but also provides a crucial resource for the wider community. We're proud to play a part in making our facilities safer for everyone."
