Details of the Police Intervention

The police action occurred on Wednesday, March 18, shortly before 3:30 PM. Officers stopped a car in Tamworth, pulling it over into a layby where they conducted a search. Inside the vehicle, police discovered two teenage occupants along with what they described as evidence of drug dealing activity.

During the search, officers recovered quantities of cocaine, substantial amounts of cash, and multiple mobile phones. Both teenagers were immediately arrested on suspicion of dealing cocaine and taken into custody for questioning.

Charges Filed Against the Teenagers

The two individuals facing charges include a 17-year-old male who cannot be named for legal reasons and an 18-year-old identified as Enis Kamberi. Both teenagers are listed as having no fixed address according to police records.

The 17-year-old has been charged with:

  • Possession with intent to supply a controlled Class A drug (cocaine)
  • Driving without a valid licence
  • Driving without insurance
  • Possession of criminal property

Enis Kamberi, aged 18, faces similar charges including:

  • Possession with intent to supply a controlled Class A drug (cocaine)
  • Acquiring, using, or possessing criminal property

Police Statement and Court Proceedings

A spokesperson for Staffordshire Police confirmed the charges, stating: "Two teenagers have been charged after officers found cocaine, cash and mobile phones in Tamworth. This comes after members of our major and organised crime proactive team stopped a car in a layby in Tamworth just before 3:30 PM on Wednesday."

Both individuals were scheduled to appear at the North Staffordshire Justice Centre on Friday, March 20, to face these charges in court.

Related Drug Dealing Case in Tamworth

In a separate but related development, two additional individuals have been charged with drug dealing offences in the Tamworth area. Liam Obeirne, aged 31, and Kate Windridge, aged 24, both residents of Tamworth, were arrested after police observed suspicious activity involving an e-scooter rider.

The pair face multiple charges including:

  1. Two counts of possession with intent to supply heroin
  2. Two counts of possession with intent to supply crack cocaine
  3. Being concerned in the supply of both crack cocaine and heroin

Obeirne faces additional charges of possession of cannabis, possession of an offensive weapon in a private place, driving while disqualified, and driving without insurance. These charges stem from a stop-and-search operation and property search conducted in the Stonydelph area of Tamworth on Monday, March 16.

Obeirne and Windridge were set to appear at the North Staffordshire Justice Centre on Wednesday, March 18, highlighting what appears to be an ongoing crackdown on drug-related activities in the Tamworth region.

Staffordshire Police continue to investigate both cases as part of their broader efforts to combat drug dealing and organised crime in the area.
