A man suspected of robbing a Tesco Express store in Birmingham has been arrested following a vehicle stop by police.
The incident occurred at the Tesco Express on Redhill Road in West Heath on Monday, April 20, when staff members were threatened with violence and items were stolen.
Officers from West Midlands Police's Operation Skybridge team were patrolling in Selly Oak on Wednesday, May 7, when they stopped a vehicle on Bristol Road.
A 46-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of shop theft and threatening violence to staff at the store. He remains in custody and is being questioned by officers.
Police Statement
A spokesman for West Midlands Police said: "A man has been arrested in connection with shop theft and threatening staff at the store. Officers from Operation Skybridge were patrolling around Selly Oak yesterday, when they stopped a vehicle on Bristol Road. Following enquiries, a 46-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of shop theft and threatening violence to staff at the store. He remains in custody for questioning."
