Three Arrested in Blackpool Following Discovery of Body in Coventry Wheelie Bin
Two men and a woman have been arrested on suspicion of murder after the body of a man was found inside a wheelie bin in Coventry. The discovery was made in Cash's Park off Daimler Road at approximately 5pm on Friday, March 13.
A member of the public alerted West Midlands Police to the scene, where the victim, believed to be aged between 40 and 50, was located. Overnight, police arrested a man and woman in their 40s and a man in his 20s in Blackpool as part of the ongoing investigation.
Police Appeal for Information on Tattoos
Detective Chief Inspector Phil Poole from the force's Major Crime Unit stated that all three individuals remain in custody while authorities work to build a clearer picture of the events leading to the man's death. Enquiries are ongoing to formally identify the deceased and establish the cause of death.
Police have released descriptions of distinctive tattoos on the victim's body to aid in identification. These include a tattoo on his back featuring a cross with a snake wrapped around it, accompanied by the words "little stardust". Additionally, he had a tattoo on his right arm that said "nan", along with a clover and the colours of the Irish flag.
Ongoing Investigation and Public Appeal
Detective Chief Inspector Poole expressed gratitude to those who have already come forward with information and reiterated the appeal for further assistance. He urged anyone with knowledge of the incident or who might be able to help the investigation to contact the police immediately.
Authorities are particularly interested in hearing from individuals who may have witnessed any suspicious activity in the Cash's Park area around the time of the discovery. The investigation is being treated as a murder case, with forensic teams having conducted a thorough examination of the scene.
