TikTok Influencer Admits Dangerous Driving After High-Speed Police Chase
Paige Brookes, a 24-year-old TikTok star with over 142,000 followers, has pleaded guilty to dangerous driving and failing to stop for police officers following a chaotic high-speed chase in Stafford. The incident, which occurred on 3 September last year, saw Brookes driving her bright yellow Chevrolet at excessive speeds, causing what officers described as "havoc" on the roads.
Chaotic Chase and Crash
The court was told that Brookes disregarded police attempts to stop her in Stafford, leading to a pursuit. She drove above the speed limit, failed to negotiate a mini roundabout, and eventually smashed into pedestrian railings, bringing the chase to a dramatic end. Fortunately, no pedestrians or other vehicles were involved in the collision, but the potential for serious harm was high.
PC Groves from the Stafford local policing team, who responded to the incident, stated: "Brookes showed a complete disregard for her own and other road users' safety when she drove dangerously that day, causing havoc. It's only good fortune that she didn't collide with a pedestrian or other vehicle." He added that he was pleased she admitted the offences and hopes this case demonstrates that such reckless behavior will be prosecuted.
Background and Bail
Despite leaving education at 13 without any qualifications, Brookes has built a six-figure enterprise and gained fame as a social media influencer. On TikTok, she openly shares personal and professional milestones, aiming to promote transparency and inspire other young women. However, this incident has cast a shadow over her public persona.
Brookes has been released on bail and is scheduled to be sentenced at Cannock Magistrates' Court on 20 March. The case highlights the serious consequences of dangerous driving, especially when it endangers public safety.
