Trio assaulted in Lye after car rammed

Three people were attacked in Lye after their car was rammed by another vehicle, police have said.

Incident details

The incident occurred on Cross Walks, near the junction with Cemetery Road, at around 4:15 pm on Sunday, April 26. The vehicle was damaged during the attack, and a section of the road was sealed off around a blue car.

Three police cars and an ambulance were pictured at the scene. West Midlands Police confirmed that the injuries sustained by the three victims were not life-changing or life-threatening.

Police statement

A force spokesperson said: "We're investigating after three people were assaulted after their car was rammed into by another vehicle on Cross Walk Road, Lye, at around 4:15 pm yesterday. The vehicle was attacked, and damaged, and as the three occupants got out they were assaulted. Thankfully, their injuries are not life-changing or life-threatening."

The attackers fled the scene. Police are in the early stages of establishing exactly what happened and why. They are reviewing CCTV in the area and have appealed for witnesses.

Ambulance service response

A West Midlands Ambulance Service spokesperson said: "We were called to an incident at the junction of Cross Walks and Belmont Road in Stourbridge at 4:17 pm and sent an ambulance to the scene. On arrival, crews found a teenage boy, who they treated for injuries not believed to be serious before conveying him under emergency driving conditions to hospital."
