Two Men Arrested After Fatal Hit-and-Run on Countryside Road
Two individuals have been arrested following the discovery of a man's body on a Midlands road, with police suspecting a hit-and-run incident. The victim, a man in his 50s, was found on Monk's Park Lane near Atherstone at approximately 1:30 AM on Friday, April 3, 2026.
Police Investigation Underway
Authorities believe that a vehicle collided with the man and fled the scene, prompting a serious investigation. In response, a 23-year-old man from Nuneaton and a 74-year-old man from Shifnal were arrested hours later. They face allegations including causing death by dangerous driving, drink driving, and failing to stop at the scene of an accident.

Police are particularly interested in speaking with anyone who witnessed or has video footage of a red Mercedes Vito van in the area around the time of the incident. They urge residents to review CCTV, doorbell cameras, and dashcam footage to assist with the case.
