Two Arrested and Machetes Seized in Birmingham Burglary Sting

Two suspected burglars were arrested and two 'enormous machetes' were recovered in Birmingham this morning (May 4). West Midlands Police's Road Crime Team spotted a vehicle in Billesley, Birmingham, containing the suspects.

Details of the Incident

Further checks revealed that the driver was disqualified and had been released from custody just hours before the incident. The vehicle, which was observed in Billesley, was found to contain two large machetes.

Police Statement

In a post on X at around 7:40 am, officers stated: 'Road crime team saw this car in Billesley with 2 prolific burglary offenders on board. They decamped but were both arrested when checks found the driver was disqualified & had been released from custody hours earlier plus there were 2 enormous machetes in the car.'
