Two suspected drug dealers have been taken into custody by West Midlands Police following a vehicle stop near Duncan Edwards Way in Dudley.

Incident Details

The incident unfolded shortly after 3:20 pm on Tuesday, June 16, when officers sighted a suspicious vehicle. The car initially failed to stop for police but was eventually brought to a halt near Duncan Edwards Way.

Upon searching the vehicle, officers discovered a quantity of drugs and cash. A 21-year-old woman and a 25-year-old man were arrested at the scene on suspicion of possession of drugs with intent to supply.

The man faces additional charges of failing to stop for police and being in charge of a vehicle while unfit through drink or drugs.

Current Status

Both suspects remained in police custody on Wednesday, June 17, awaiting questioning. A West Midlands Police spokesperson confirmed: "We've arrested two suspected drug dealers after stopping a suspicious vehicle in Dudley. The car initially failed to stop for officers but was brought to a halt near Duncan Edwards Way at just after 3:20 pm yesterday. Following a search we recovered drugs and cash from the vehicle. A 21-year-old woman and man, aged 25, were arrested on suspicion of possession of drugs with intent to supply. The man was also detained on suspicion of failing to stop and being in charge of a vehicle while unfit through drink or drugs. They both remain in custody for questioning."
