Two Charged with Attempted Murder After Birmingham Stabbing

Two men have been charged with attempted murder after a stabbing in Birmingham city centre left a man with life-threatening injuries.

Charges Filed

Kyle Johnson, 28, of no fixed address, and Daniel Smith, 30, of Handsworth, were both charged with attempted murder. They appeared at Birmingham Magistrates' Court on Monday.

The charges follow an incident on Saturday, 18 March, in the city centre. Police were called to reports of a stabbing near the junction of Corporation Street and Bull Street at around 5.30pm.

The Victim

A man in his 20s was found with serious stab wounds. He was taken to hospital where his condition was described as life-threatening. He remains in hospital but is now in a stable condition.

Detectives from West Midlands Police have been investigating the attack. They believe the victim and the suspects were known to each other.

Police Appeal

Detective Inspector Jim Colclough, from the force's CID, said: "This was a serious incident that left a young man fighting for his life. We have acted quickly to charge two men, but our investigation continues."

Police are appealing for anyone who witnessed the incident or has any information to come forward. They are particularly interested in speaking to anyone who was in the area at the time and may have seen what happened.
