Police have launched an investigation after two men were stabbed at a music event in Digbeth last night. Officers were called to Cru2’s Birmingham Shutdown event at Luna Springs in Lower Trinity Street shortly before 7pm on May 9 following reports that two men had suffered stab wounds and had been taken to hospital. Neither of the men is believed to have suffered life-threatening injuries.
Incident Details
The venue was evacuated, with a screen behind a DJ booth displaying a message saying “there has been an incident” and asking people to leave by the nearest exit. West Midlands Police said officers remain in the area today while detectives work to establish exactly what happened and identify those responsible.
Police Appeal
Investigators believe there were a large number of people inside the venue at the time of the incident who could have information and are appealing for witnesses to come forward. Anyone with information, including mobile phone footage, is urged to contact police or speak to officers at the scene.

Event Cancellation
A post on Cru2 Events’s Instagram page said: “Due to unforeseen circumstances the afterparty for Cru2: The Birmingham Shutdown has been cancelled. All ticket holders for the main event and afterparty will be contacted on Monday.”
