Police have launched an urgent public appeal to help locate a ten-year-old schoolgirl who has gone missing from her home in Solihull as freezing temperatures grip the region.
Concerns Grow Amid Sub-Zero Forecast
Zafinya was last seen at around 12:30pm on Monday, January 5. With the Met Office forecasting an overnight plunge in temperatures well below zero, concerns for her safety and welfare are mounting rapidly.
Officers from West Midlands Police are leading the search and are appealing directly to residents and the wider public for any information that could lead to finding her.
Description and Last Known Clothing
The missing girl is described as white with shoulder-length dark brown hair. When she was last seen, she was wearing specific clothing which may help members of the public identify her.
Her outfit consisted of a grey jumper, light-coloured joggers with black and white images on them, and a pair of grey Nike Jordan trainers.
How the Public Can Help
The police force has issued a clear instruction to anyone who may spot Zafinya. A spokesperson stated: “Call 999 if you see Zafinya, quoting log 2137-050126.”
They emphasised the urgency of the situation due to her young age and the severe weather conditions. The public are urged not to approach her but to contact the emergency services immediately.
Community Urged to Stay Vigilant
This urgent missing persons appeal highlights the critical role the community can play in such situations. Residents in Solihull and surrounding areas are asked to check their gardens, outbuildings, and local areas where a child might seek shelter from the cold.
As the search continues into the night, police resources are dedicated to locating Zafinya and ensuring she is returned safely to her family.
