Police have issued a witness appeal after a motorcyclist suffered life-changing injuries in a collision with a car in Wolverhampton. The incident occurred at the junction of Wednesfield Road and Deans Road on Sunday, May 17, at approximately 10:50 am.
Emergency services, including two ambulances, a paramedic officer, and a MERIT trauma doctor with a critical care paramedic, attended the scene. The motorcyclist was treated for serious, potentially life-changing injuries before being transported under emergency conditions to Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Birmingham, where he remained on Monday, May 18.
The driver of the car stayed at the scene and is assisting police with their enquiries. West Midlands Police are urging anyone who witnessed the crash or has relevant dash cam footage to come forward.
A spokesperson for West Midlands Ambulance Service said: "We were called to reports of a road traffic collision between a car and a motorcyclist at the junction of Wednesfield Road and Woden Road in Wolverhampton at 10:50 am yesterday. We sent two ambulances, a paramedic officer, and a MERIT trauma doctor with a critical care paramedic to the scene. On arrival, crews found a man, the motorcyclist, who they treated for serious, potentially life-changing injuries before conveying him under emergency driving conditions to Queen Elizabeth Hospital."
West Midlands Police added: "Our investigation is continuing following a collision between a motorbike and a car at the junction of Wednesfield Road and Deans Road in Wolverhampton on Sunday at 10:50 am. The rider of the bike remains in hospital with life-changing injuries. We would ask anyone who hasn’t spoken to us yet, or has any dash cam or information that could help our officers, to get in touch."
