Police are investigating after a woman was approached by a man wielding a knife in a Staffordshire town. The incident occurred in the early hours of the morning, leaving the victim shaken but physically unharmed.

The incident took place at around 2:30am on Sunday, 26 March, in the town centre of Tamworth. The woman, in her 20s, was walking alone when a man approached her and brandished a knife. He made threats before fleeing the scene. The victim immediately reported the incident to the police.
Police Response and Appeal
Staffordshire Police have launched an investigation and are appealing for any witnesses or anyone with information to come forward. Detective Sergeant Paul Cooke said: "This was a terrifying ordeal for the victim, who was left extremely distressed. We are determined to find the person responsible and bring them to justice." The suspect is described as a white man, approximately 6ft tall, of slim build, wearing a dark hooded top and dark trousers. He spoke with a local accent.
