West Midlands Police have detained a woman on suspicion of wounding after a man was found with stab injuries in Darlaston on Friday morning (September 18). The man was taken to hospital under emergency driving conditions after an air ambulance was scrambled to the scene.
Officers were called to All Saints Road, Darlaston, just before 11.30am following reports of a man with stab injuries. Medics arrived shortly after 11.28am and treated the man for serious injuries before he was conveyed to hospital.
Police confirm injuries not life-threatening
West Midlands Police said the man's injuries are not believed to be life-threatening. A force spokesperson stated: "We were called to All Saints Road, Darlaston, at just before 11.30am after a man was found with stab injuries. He has been taken to hospital although his injuries are not believed to be life-threatening."
The spokesperson added: "A woman has been detained on suspicion of wounding. She has been taken to hospital for assessment and will be questioned in due course."
Air ambulance dispatched to incident near Walsall Road
A West Midlands Ambulance Service spokesperson said: "We were called to an incident near to Walsall Road in Darlaston, at 11.28am. We sent an ambulance, a paramedic officer and the Midlands Air Ambulance to the scene."
Upon arrival, crews found the man and treated him for serious injuries before transporting him to hospital under emergency driving conditions. The woman was also taken to hospital for assessment, according to the ambulance service.
Investigation underway as woman due for questioning
The woman remains detained and is expected to be questioned by police once she has been assessed in hospital. West Midlands Police have not released further details about the incident or the condition of either individual at this stage.
The force continues to investigate the circumstances surrounding the stabbing on All Saints Road. No further arrests have been reported, and police have not indicated whether they are seeking any additional suspects.
