A woman in her 20s has been left with serious injuries after a crash involving three cars and a van on the M5 motorway near Birmingham. The incident occurred on the southbound carriageway between Junction 1 for the A41 at West Bromwich and Junction 2 for the A4123 at Oldbury.
Crash Details and Emergency Response
West Midlands Police were called to the scene at around 6:30 pm on Tuesday, 28 March. Paramedics from West Midlands Ambulance Service also attended and treated the woman at the scene before she was taken to hospital for further treatment. Her injuries are described as serious but not life-threatening.
The collision involved three cars and a van, causing significant disruption to traffic on the M5 southbound. Motorists were advised to avoid the area and seek alternative routes as emergency services worked to clear the scene.
Investigation Underway
Police have launched an investigation into the circumstances of the crash. Officers are appealing for any witnesses or anyone with dashcam footage to come forward.
