Maxi-Cosi FamilyFix Slide Pro Car Seat Base Urgently Recalled in UK
Maxi-Cosi Car Seat Base Recalled: UK Parents Warned

Maxi-Cosi is recalling all of its FamilyFix Slide Pro bases in the United Kingdom after a fault was identified that could lead to injuries in children. The recall alert, published on the Office for Product Safety and Standards (OPSS) website, warns parents to stop using the product immediately.

Risk of Detachment

The baby car seat may detach from the base due to a malfunctioning indicator. According to the recall alert, the indicator that shows whether the seat is correctly fitted may display a green signal even when the car seat is not fully attached to the base. This could lead users to believe the seat is properly connected when it is not, potentially causing the seat to move or detach and injuring the occupant.

The product does not meet the requirements of the General Product Safety Regulations 2005, as per the OPSS.

Affected Products

Maxi-Cosi is recalling products manufactured in China between 6 September 2025 and 24 March 2026. The company has issued a statement on its website explaining that during a recent user test conducted as part of continuous improvement efforts, a potential misuse scenario was identified involving a visual indicator on the new Maxi-Cosi FamilyFix base.

“Your child’s safety drives every decision we make at Maxi-Cosi, and in keeping with our deep dedication to you and your family, we want to make you aware of a voluntary recall affecting your product,” the statement reads. “We have initiated a voluntary product recall as part of our ongoing commitment to the highest possible standards of child safety, product quality, and ease of use.”

Consumer Advice

Sue Davies, Which? head of consumer protection policy, said: “It is incredibly concerning that Maxi-Cosi is recalling this car seat base due to a risk that it could cause the seat to move or detach during use. Anyone with a Maxi-Cosi car seat can use the brand’s online tool to check if their car seat is affected, and if so, they should stop using it immediately. Maxi-Cosi and its suppliers must urgently investigate how this has happened and ensure the necessary safeguards are in place to prevent potentially unsafe products from reaching consumers in future.”

Parents who own a Maxi-Cosi FamilyFix Slide Pro base are urged to check the brand’s online tool to see if their product is affected and to stop using it immediately if it is.
