The iconic Chorley Flower Show is set to return to Astley Park from Friday, July 31 to Sunday, August 2, offering a packed weekend of entertainment for all ages alongside its renowned horticultural displays. While the event remains a paradise for gardening enthusiasts with breathtaking floral marquees, award-winning competitive displays, and expert growing tips, this year's lineup expands far beyond blooms.
The three-day festival features family-friendly activities, live music, artisan food and drink stalls, and vibrant local trade stands, making it an ideal day out whether you are a seasoned gardener or simply seeking a lively community atmosphere. Set against the backdrop of one of Chorley's favourite green spaces, the event promises something for every generation, from garden tips to kids' entertainment and relaxation.
Celebrity Gardeners and Live Broadcasts
Familiar faces will share their expertise throughout the weekend. Charlie Dimmock appears on Saturday, August 1, while David Domoney joins on Sunday, August 2. Rita Millat will be present on Friday, July 31 and Sunday, August 2. Jonathan Moseley, Martin and Jill Fish are scheduled for all three days. BBC Radio Lancashire's Sharon Hartley will broadcast live from the show on Friday, July 31.
Family Fun Zone and Activities
The Family Fun Zone, in partnership with Chorley FC Community Foundation and the Anderton Centre, offers free activities including football, dance, crafts, climbing, archery, and axe throwing. Additional paid attractions such as rides, face painting, glitter tattoos, and crafts are also available. The Red Barrows, a local group, will reunite for a performance on Friday, July 31 at 12 noon following a campaign by BBC Radio Lancashire's Graham Liver.
Four-legged visitors can participate in dog agility activities hosted by Chorley Dog Agility Club, and Cats Dog Photography will be on site.
Entertainment and Workshops
Live music and dancing take centre stage at the show's entertainment stage and dance floor. Hands-on workshops (some with fees) are available, with details on the schedule at chorleyflowershow.com.
Floral Displays and Competitions
Professional show gardens will be on display alongside gardens created from winning and runner-up entries in the Children's Design a Garden competition. The event introduces its first professional florist competition, where local florists compete for the title of Chorley Flower Show's Florist of the Year.
The popular community and school garden competitions, sponsored by Eric Wright Construction, return with more than 20 mini gardens on show. Inside Astley Hall's Great Hall, visitors can admire floral installations by Rita Millat, a finalist on BBC Interior Design Masters Series 6. The Bloomin' Big Marquee houses amateur competition entries, including floral art, fruit, and vegetables.
Food, Drink, and Shopping
Food and drink options range from a Pimm's Hot Air Balloon Bar and Texas BBQ to sweet treats and artisan produce. Year-round favourites Café Ambio and Barrica in the Park will also be open. A variety of trade stalls offer retail therapy.

Tickets are on sale now at chorleyflowershow.com/tickets, Astley Hall Gift Shop, Ebb and Flo Bookshop on St Thomas’s Road, and Chorley Theatre (check opening hours). Children under 16 go free. Visitors can also pay on the day. The show’s Park and Ride service operates from the car parks at Park Hall Hotel in Charnock Richard (small fee for the bus, children free).
