The Doctor Johnson Public House in Lichfield has hit out at 'scumbag' vandals who damaged brand-new furniture, telling them: 'Don't come back'. Management condemned the culprits after initials were scratched into the new lounge seating, calling the act 'childish and disrespectful'.
Pub owners' strong response
Owners Wayne Barsby and Claire Sheasby expressed their anger on social media, posting: 'To the scumbag J+S. Scrawling your initials is a childish and disrespectful thing to do to our new furniture. We hope you're pathetically proud of yourselves. Please don't come back.' They added: 'We don't have unsupervised children, sadly I think these were adults - or supposed to be.'
Damage to newly renovated lounge
The pub had recently invested significant time, money, and effort into upgrading the lounge area. 'We've spent a lot of time, money and effort to upgrade our lounge for some mindless person to do this, really disappointed,' the owners said. The vandalism sparked widespread condemnation on social media, with many criticising the 'pathetic' act.
Public reaction
One commenter said: 'What a bunch of t*****s, that is so out of order.' Another added: 'That is truly sad and pathetic. I hope they feel some remorse but sadly I doubt they would have the capacity. You guys have done such a great job and it's one of my favourite spots to come for a drink.' A third person posted: 'They know who they are, hopefully you might find out, (they) should be made to pay, no respect.'
The Doctor Johnson Public House is located at 116 Netherstowe, Lichfield, WS13 6TS.
