Former Coronation Street actress and model Helen Flanagan has revealed she was involved in a car collision just before New Year's Eve, describing the incident as a 'rubbish' end to 2025.
'Totally my fault' crash details
In a candid social media post on December 31, 2025, Flanagan shared that the accident had occurred the previous day. The star, seen wearing pyjamas and holding a coffee, admitted the crash was her fault and left her feeling 'deflated'.
She explained to her followers: "I crashed my car yesterday. It was fine, could have been a lot worse. It's just hassle, because I planned to go to Scotland." Flanagan added that she had collided with another vehicle, resulting in significant damage to her own car. "I crashed into another car and it was totally my fault. I can't drive my car, the bumper is hanging off," she said.
Opening up on single motherhood struggles
The car crash revelation followed an honest discussion from Flanagan about the complexities of life as a single mother to her three children. She shares Matilda, Delilah, and Charlie with her former partner, Scott Sinclair.
Flanagan provided insight into the emotional challenges, particularly with her eldest daughter, Matilda. "What I find, probably, like the most difficult is probably with Matilda," she disclosed. "Me and her dad broke up when she was seven... Matilda is sensitive, and she takes everything very much in. And every single time that I get her back, she's in a mood with me."
She emphasised her commitment to ensuring her children maintain a strong relationship with their father, despite their separation. To help with communication, Flanagan revealed plans to buy Matilda a mobile phone so they can FaceTime when she is with her dad.
Looking ahead after a difficult month
Following the crash, Flanagan outlined her plans to spend the rest of her day dealing with admin and reviewing scripts for an upcoming project. The incident caps off a challenging period for the actress.
Earlier in December 2025, she had publicly criticised her ex-partner after he reportedly failed to attend their son Charlie's nativity play, having travelled to the Middle East instead.
Despite the 'rubbish' end to the year, Flanagan reassured fans that the car crash situation "could've been a lot worse", striking a note of resilience as she heads into the New Year.
