Birmingham's most elusive fugitive, Sayed Hersi, remains at large after six years on West Midlands Police's most wanted list. The 47-year-old holds the unwanted distinction of being the longest-serving suspect on that list, with his mugshot viewed over 142,000 times online since June 2020.
Hersi first came to public attention in June 2020 when he was wanted for breaching a court order. Despite extensive police appeals and significant public attention, his current location is a complete mystery, with detectives reporting no leads on his whereabouts.
Possible Whereabouts
Police believe Hersi may have gone to ground within the UK and altered his appearance. There is also speculation that he might have fled abroad to evade capture.
Police Appeal
At the time of his initial listing, West Midlands Police issued a statement: "We're after your help in tracing Sayed Hersi from Birmingham who is wanted for a breach of a court order." The force continues to urge anyone with information to come forward.
