Body Found in Search for Missing Tamworth Teen

Staffordshire Police have confirmed that a body has been discovered during the search for a missing 15-year-old girl from Tamworth. The teenager, named Madison, was reported missing on Wednesday, May 6.

Police reported that a girl fell from a bridge over the A5 near Weeford in the Lichfield District at approximately 10:10 PM on the same evening. Officers and paramedics provided treatment at the scene, but the girl tragically succumbed to her injuries shortly afterward.

Investigation and Family Support

A spokesperson for the force stated that the death is not being treated as suspicious. A file is being prepared for the coroner, and Madison's family has been informed and is receiving support during this difficult time.

Due to previous police contact with Madison, a referral has been made to the Independent Office for Police Conduct (IOPC), as per standard procedure.

In an official statement, a Staffordshire Police spokesperson said: "We can sadly confirm that a body has been found in the search for missing 15-year-old Madison, from Tamworth. Madison was reported missing yesterday (Wednesday, May 6). Officers were completing extensive searches when a girl fell from a bridge over the A5 near Weeford at around 10:10pm. Officers and paramedics treated her at the scene, but she sadly died a short while later. We are not treating the death as suspicious and a file will be prepared for HM Coroner. Madison’s family have been informed and are being supported at this incredibly difficult time. A referral is being made to the Independent Office for Police Conduct (IOPC) given the previous police contact with her."
