The Beckham family's festive season has been overshadowed by a very public digital rift, as youngest son Cruz Beckham has claimed his older brother Brooklyn has blocked their entire family on Instagram without warning.
Cruz Confirms the Social Media Snub
Cruz, 20, took to his Instagram Story to address the situation directly. He clarified that his parents, David and Victoria Beckham, did not initiate the social media separation. "My mum and dad would never unfollow their son," he wrote. "They woke up blocked. As did I." This move reportedly extends to Brooklyn's younger sister, Harper, 12, meaning the entire immediate family has been cut off from his social media profile.
A Rift That's Been Building
This digital block is the latest sign of a deepening estrangement within the famous family. It follows the notable absence of David and Victoria from Brooklyn and his wife Nicola Peltz's wedding vow renewal ceremony in New York this past August. A source suggested to The Sun that Brooklyn's bond has shifted significantly towards Nicola's parents, Jackie and Tony Peltz, in recent years.
"Brooklyn spent so much time with her parents Jackie and Tony for the first few years of his life," the insider claimed. "They had such a special bond, while Sandra (David's mum) looked after him so much growing up." The source added that Harper "really misses her big brother and Nicola."
Family Hopes for a Festive Truce
Despite the apparent distance, there remains a hope for reconciliation, especially during the holiday period. Victoria Beckham is reportedly hoping Brooklyn will at least reach out to his grandparents over Christmas. The source indicated Victoria has "given up on him calling her," highlighting the depth of the current strain.
Eagle-eyed fans have also noted that Brooklyn's wife, Nicola Peltz, is not following any of the Beckham family on Instagram either, suggesting a united front. The situation stands in stark contrast to last year's Boxing Day, when Victoria shared a happy family snap with David, all three sons, Harper, and Nicola, captioned: "Being together for the holidays makes me so happy. I love you all so much."
The revelation from Cruz comes shortly after Victoria spoke in an interview about her generally positive relationships with other women. On Andy Cohen's Sirius XM radio show, she stated, "I'm a girl's girl. I mean you've got to be a real [expletive] for me to not get on with you if you're a woman," emphasising her desire to empower and connect with women through her fashion and beauty work.
