Dianne Buswell Hits Back at Trolls Over Baby Bump Criticism

Strictly Star Dianne Buswell Claps Back at Online Critics Over Pregnancy Content

Professional dancer Dianne Buswell, renowned for her role on Strictly Come Dancing, has delivered a brilliant and unapologetic response to online trolls who have targeted her for sharing images of her pregnant belly on social media. The 36-year-old Australian performer, who is expecting her first child with partner Joe Sugg, 34, has faced unwarranted criticism as her due date approaches.

A Defiant Message Set to Music

In a recent TikTok video, Buswell addressed the negative comments head-on. The footage shows her confidently walking toward the camera while lifting her t-shirt to prominently display her baby bump. Accompanying the video, she quoted a mocking remark from trolls: "But why do you always have your belly out?"

Her response was both clever and resolute. Buswell played the iconic KC and the Sunshine Band track That's the Way (I Like It) in the background, making it clear she would not be deterred by her critics. She reinforced this message with a second caption: "Because that's the way I like it!"

Overwhelming Support from Fans and Followers

The dancer's defiant stance quickly garnered widespread support from hundreds of fans, many of whom shared their own pregnancy experiences. One compassionate follower commented: "When I was heavily pregnant literally the only way I could be comfortable was with the bump out. Can't explain why, just had to let it 'breathe'!" Another added: "If you've ever been pregnant the feeling of just letting it out in the wild is amazing."

Other supporters praised Buswell for standing up to negativity. One fan wrote: "I'm sick of other people telling each other what to do and what not to do, what others do doesn't affect your life, you'll forget about and move on and carry on with your life so why care so much?"

Pregnancy Journey and Future Plans

Buswell and Sugg, who met through the BBC show in 2018, announced their pregnancy joyfully via social media last September with an adorable video showing them painting a canvas that revealed two stick figures with a child. Since then, they have openly shared details of their pregnancy journey and aspirations for the future.

In a YouTube update, the couple disclosed they have already chosen a name for their future son, though they are keeping it private for now. Joe Sugg explained: "The name that we've come up with, we're not going to share it. I'd say it's quite a unique name but it's not unique as in..." Buswell interjected, comparing it to the name Joe, noting it's "cute when you're little, you can call yourself Joseph when you're older."

Sugg humorously added that to avoid accidental reveals, they might temporarily call the baby Derek. Reflecting on their journey, Buswell admitted she was most nervous about telling her parents, saying: "It was the most nervous I'd ever been. I was so nervous to tell people, I don't know why. I almost put it off." Sugg echoed this sentiment, noting he was more anxious to share the news with friends and family than with their social media followers.

Through her defiant response and continued openness, Dianne Buswell has not only silenced her critics but also inspired many with her confidence and authenticity during this significant life chapter.
