A family has expressed their desperation for answers five months after their loved one disappeared from his home in Shrewsbury. Montgomery Lewis, also known as Monty, was last seen at his home address on December 8 last year.
Police Concerns
West Mercia Police have stated they remain extremely concerned for Monty's welfare. Officers have been unable to locate him since receiving a missing person report on February 11, after Monty had not contacted his family for some time.
Detective Inspector Tim Atherton said: “Montgomery has now been missing for several months, and we remain extremely concerned for their welfare. Despite extensive enquiries, we have not been able to locate them, and we are continuing to ask for the public’s help.”
Public Appeal
“Monty was last seen leaving their home in Shrewsbury on Monday 8 December, and we believe they may still be in the town, which is why public information is so important. We’re urging anyone who may have seen Monty, spoken to them, or believes they may know where they are to please get in touch. Monty’s family are desperate for answers, and any detail, no matter how small it may seem, could be vital in helping us find them.”
Description
Monty has been described as having blonde, wavy, shoulder-length hair, standing around 6ft 3in tall, and of a slim build. He was believed to be carrying a black rucksack when he left home, wearing a light grey padded anorak with a faux fur hood.
Police believe Monty could still be in the Shrewsbury area. Anyone with information is urged to call 101, quoting incident number 148i of February 11, 2026.
