Friends and Family Pay Heartfelt Tribute to Lee Bowden After Fatal Quinton Collision

The grieving friends of Lee Bowden, who was tragically killed in a car collision in Birmingham, have shared emotional tributes, describing him as "the most caring person" whose absence will leave a profound void. The 27-year-old father-of-two died when his car collided with a tree on Ridgacre Lane in Quinton just after midnight on Saturday.

Colleagues Remember a Compassionate Friend and Devoted Father

On Sunday, a stream of friends and family gathered at the scene of the collision to lay flowers and honor Lee's memory. Among them were his former colleagues Gabby Marks, Caitlin Haycock, and Lewis Whitehouse, who worked with him at the RAC or AA. Holding back tears, Gabby Marks, 24 from Shard End, expressed her deep sorrow.

"He's always been a lovely person," Ms. Marks said. "He loves his daughters so much and would speak highly of them and would do anything for them. He was always a shoulder to cry on at work, if I had any issues at home."

Caitlin Haycock, 23 from Cradley Heath, echoed these sentiments, highlighting Lee's unwavering support. "He was the most caring person. From the moment he came over to our work he was there for me," she shared. "Whenever I was crying or down, he was there for me and always asking what's wrong. He adored everyone at work and he was the most sarcastic but serious person ever."

A Legacy of Kindness and Humor

Ms. Haycock added that Lee had a unique ability to blend humor with genuine care. "He was the type of person you could go to and he would give you advice but he was also the type of person who was sarcastic just to make you feel better," she recalled.

Lewis Whitehouse, 20 from Dudley, also paid tribute to Lee's supportive nature. "Every time I had an issue Lee would be there to listen and give me advice on what to do," Mr. Whitehouse said. "He loved his daughters to bits, he would speak about them everyday. And if you ever needed any advice, Lee would be the person to go to- he'd help you out in every situation."

Reflecting on the loss, Mr. Whitehouse somberly noted that work "is not going to be the same" without him, a sentiment shared by all who knew Lee.

Touching Tributes from Loved Ones

Among the floral tributes placed at the collision spot was a poignant bouquet with a card from Lee's two daughters, Ella and Millie. The card read, "I love you so much daddy. Love, your beautiful girls, Ella and Millie," capturing the deep bond he shared with his family.

Lee's girlfriend, Amelia, 18, who was in the car during the crash and has since been discharged from hospital, also shared her heartfelt memories. "He was the love of my life and made me and everyone in his life so happy," she said. "He always put everyone else first and anyone that knew him would agree his heart was so pure."

The community continues to mourn the loss of Lee Bowden, a man remembered for his kindness, humor, and unwavering devotion to his family and friends. As tributes pour in, his legacy of compassion and care remains a source of comfort to those left behind.
