Thrill-seekers can join a spine-tingling ghost hunt around the ruins of a medieval Benedictine monastery near Birmingham, as paranormal investigations take place after dark in Sandwell. The event, hosted by The Haunted Exchange, will run from 8pm to 1am on Saturday 22 August at Sandwell Valley Visitor Centre, offering exclusive access to areas believed to be haunted.
What to Expect on the Night
Attendees will take part in guided paranormal investigations across the site, using professional ghost-hunting equipment and working alongside experienced mediums. The evening is designed to explore the stories—and spirits—of this historic location, with free time included for personal investigations.
Complementary tea, coffee, or water will be provided to keep participants going through the night. The event is open to those brave enough to delve into the dark curiosity of the Valley, as advertised by The Haunted Exchange.
A Site Steeped in History
The Visitor Centre is set within a Grade I listed Victorian farm, but its history goes much deeper. The site has ties to Sandwell Priory, a medieval Benedictine monastery, and Sandwell Hall, built in 1711 for the first Earl of Dartmouth. According to a spokesman for The Haunted Exchange, the location has long been a hotspot for reported paranormal activity.
"Join The Haunted Exchange after hours at Sandwell Valley Visitor Centre for a night of spine-tingling paranormal investigations," the spokesman said. "Set within a Grade I listed Victorian farm, the Visitor Centre holds a rich and mysterious history."
Booking and Further Information
Tickets for the ghost hunt can be booked via TicketSource, with further details available online. The event is part of a series of paranormal evenings hosted by The Haunted Exchange, and places are expected to be limited due to the exclusive nature of the access.
